Since 1921, the Cape Girardeau Country Club has delivered the golf, dining and social activities to its members. The club's rich history, friendly member-base, golf events for all ages, social parties, and dining options offer prospective members, both young and old, ample opportunity for enjoyment. The grounds also include a driving range and practice facilities, a swimming pool, fishing ponds and a variety of banquet/meeting spaces.
The date was April 3, 1921, a Sunday, and the place was the Cape Girardeau Country Club. That was when Fred A. Groves and Charles W. Boutin played the first official round of golf in Cape Girardeau. On that first day of golf in Cape Girardeau, Groves and Boutin played nine holes.
From that day forward, the Cape Girardeau Country Club has been the site for thousands of memorable rounds of golf. Over the many years the club has evolved and transitioned into a modern club, featuring 18 challenging holes of golf, swimming pool, dining options and many social events. While the property and clubhouse have changed over time, the club's "family first" atmosphere has not.

While the course has undergone substantial changes, one thing that has remained a constant are the breathtaking views of the Mississippi River.
In 1921 only nine holes were featured at the course. Later, a back nine would be added to the layout.
The original clubhouse offered golfers a place to start and finish rounds in the early 1920's. The original clubhouse would fit several times within our new facilities.
